Kayak Kamp 2016 Day 1

Everyone enjoyed jumping off the dock
Today was the first day of Kayak Kamp 2016.  Our Bible lesson was from Genesis 1:1 about how God created all of the earth and everything in it, including us, and it was all "very good". God gave us people our first job to take care of the earth and all of creation. We learned to do that through not littering and recycling today.
We paddled today at the Monksville Reservoir. Its a wonderful place to experience God's beautiful creation. We came upon a Great Blue Heron looking for breakfast and got close enough to may him fly away, squaring at us while he went.

Some of our new and first time paddlers did GREAT - Go Damire!"I've overcome my fear"!

We had lunch by the Long Pond Iron Works at the place where the Wanaque River flows into the reservoir.

We enjoyed paddling by two sets of swans swimming. They were beautiful
